Montreal, February 28, 2005 -Orgue et couleurs, under the artistic direction of the organist Régis Rousseau, announces the 4th Season of the Organ improvisation League. Taking its cue from the popular comedy improv league in which two teams compete against each other hockey-style, complete with referees and penalties, the LIO offers an original way to hear organ music in all its glory and win over legions of new fans by giving a modern twist to this traditional art.

The four teams of the league (Blue, Green, Red, Black) consisting each of three organists will be part of the featured games always on two organs in one church. The four REGULAR SEASON GAMES will be held on Sundays at 4:00 pm at the following dates: in L’Assomption on March 6 // in Quebec City on April 10 // once again in L’Assomption on May 1 // and in Montreal on May 22. The CHAMPIONSHIP GAME will be held in Montreal on Friday, June 10 at 9:00 pm.

The matches will be presented with much brio and panache by a referee and a master of ceremonies, in an interactive format in which the audience is invited to vote on the winning team of the night. The LIO is a successful combination of tradition and topicality, a showcase for talented performers in a light-hearted atmosphere. All the improv themes are announced in French but the music speaks of course in a universal language!
